Before granting an application for approval of premises as suitable for gaming, the Commission must be satisfied that the premises are or, on the completion of building works will be, suitable for the management and operation of gaming machines, and, in particular, the Commission must consider whether the size, layout and facilities of the premises are or will be suitable. Where the premises contains a children's play area the Commission will also have regard to the Decision-Making Guidelines-Assessment of children's play areas in gaming premises (PDF: 400KB)

In order to operate gaming machines in an approved venue, the approved premises must be attached to a Venue Operator's Licence.
